Pursuing my passion
Road Trip

"Taos Fall" 16 x 20
I've just returned from two weeks on the road. We headed for California, from the Dallas area, for my daughter's wedding...which was beautiful! It's a LONG drive, but the varied landscapes kept things interesting. After three days in the car we arrived at our destination about 30 minutes outside of LA.
Laguna Beach was my favorite sightseeing venture in CA - we had hoped to make it to San Diego, but that will have to wait until the next trip. After visiting a few more places like Newport Beach, Pasadena, and Naples we headed for the Grand Canyon.
I had never seen the Grand Canyon and thought I had an idea of what it might be like to experience it in person - it surpassed all expectations as we arrived at sunset. We made plans to get up early the next morning to see the sun rise over the canyon. WOW! I took over 100 photos of the sun playing with the shadows across the canyon and revealing more of the canyon's mystery with every passing minute. Spellbounding to watch! There were lots of people present to see this spectacular vision - someone played "Here Comes the Sun" as the bright light crested the horizon. A truly magical moment and one I hope I don't soon forget!
Paintings of Laguna Beach and the Grand Canyon to come so check back when you get a chance. "Taos Fall" is a 16 x 20 painting from my last trip there about a month ago.
