I've visited the Taos Pueblo many times over the years. It's a magical place for me considering it is the longest continuously inhabited community in the country - a World Heritage Site by UNESO. The Tiwa Native American tribe live there today with no running water and no electricity. The horno, bee-hived shaped outdoor ovens, were being used the last time I was at the Pueblo. Pinon wood is usually used and after it has burned to embers the bread is placed into the oven when the temperature is just right. Juried into the 54th National Women Artists of the West show at the Phippen Museum in Prescott, AZ, March 1 - June 23, 2024.
